Welcome to Dirt and Lace Homestead

Hello friends. I’m so glad you stopped by. I’m Mandy. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband, Mike, for sixteen years. We have four beautiful kids and three fur children.

We purchased out home in September 2011 while Mike was deployed. For the first few years we didn’t do to much to the house. We just worked on replacing things that were issues on the inspection and painted the living room, kitchen, and hallway. The yard was so overgrown and needed so much work.

We have cleaned it up so much but it still has a long way to go. I have so many plans for the front but it’s on the back burner while we work on the backyard. We spend all of our time back there so it only made sense to  start on it first.

So join us on our journey as we turn our quarter acre lot into our dream home.

Happy Birthday’s…..

Standard

Its been a little over a week since I’ve last posted. We have done a lot in the past week. Abby & Makala both celebrated their birthdays, and just had a party on Saturday. They were two happy girls when they ended up getting their new comforters and throw pillows. Makala got extra throw pillows, clothes, and a lot of other fun things. Abby got baby dolls, Justin Bieber posters, Justin Bieber microphones, clothes, and a lot of other stuff.

They also got a surprise when they walked into the party and saw a big huge bouncy house that Mike and I decided to get for them. It was so hot outside we decided to switch the party from the park to the Fellowship Hall. I think with the heat index the radio said that it was 106 degrees.

We had some great food at the party as well. Mike cooked up some burgers and hotdogs, and we had a fruit bowl, veggie tray, deviled eggs, old settlers beans, corn casserole, potato salad, and cole slaw.

We went with cupcakes to make it easier and less clean up. We also did the ice cream cup cakes which were a huge it. We may have to do those for Sammy’s birthday. 🙂

I have to say that the chef was quite a hottie!

I will try to post more pictures for you all to see but for now that should do it.
